How NJM Started

Gutters for Neighbors First, a Company Second

NJM started with Camron cleaning gutters for neighbors around St. Helens. The work spread by word of mouth through Columbia County before the company had a website.

The business was registered as NJM Roof & Gutter Cleaning LLC in 2024 and licensed with Oregon’s Construction Contractors Board that September. Today the same company handles roof cleaning, moss treatment, gutters, house washing, pressure washing and windows.

The People Behind NJM

  • Camron

    Owner

Quotes most jobs personally, usually from the photos and address you send.

  • Nathan

    Co-Owner

Nathan is listed as the Responsible Managing Individual on NJM’s Oregon contractor license: the person the Construction Contractors Board holds responsible for the company’s licensing.

Who You Are Hiring

Who Actually Shows Up at Your House?

It’s a fair question. With plenty of exterior cleaning outfits, the company that quotes you is not the company that turns up. Here is how it works with NJM.

NJM’s own crew, not a subcontractor

We don’t pass jobs to other contractors. The people on your ladder work for NJM, and NJM answers for what they do.

The person who quoted it stands behind it

Camron quotes most jobs personally. If something on the day changes the scope, we stop and ask before doing anything extra, rather than adding it to the invoice afterwards.

A license you can look up

NJM is licensed with the Oregon CCB under #252799, with a bond and liability insurance on file. You can check the license on the CCB site yourself. Ask and we will send the insurance certificate before we come out.

Local people on local roofs

The crew lives around here. They know which streets sit under Douglas fir and which subdivisions went up with thin aluminum gutters that dent if you lean a ladder on them.

How We Work

How We Work When It’s Your House

These are the rules the crew works to on every job, from a single-story gutter clean in Warren to a three-service visit in Portland.

  1. The price is in writing before we start

You get a written estimate, and the number doesn’t move afterwards. If we find something on the day that changes the scope, we stop and ask.

  2. The method fits the surface

Roofs and siding are soft washed at low pressure. Real pressure is kept for concrete, with a surface cleaner so the driveway finishes evenly. Decks get much lower pressure, worked along the grain.

  3. What’s under the work gets protected

Beds are wet down before treatment and rinsed after. Gutter debris is bagged and taken away, not blown across your plants.

  4. You don’t have to be home

If the crew can reach the work area and there’s an outdoor tap, most jobs happen while you’re out.

  5. You see the result

Photos and a short summary go to your phone when we finish, including the parts of the roof nobody can see from the driveway.

  6. If it isn’t right, we come back

Call us and we return at no charge. Moss treatments also carry a limited regrowth warranty.

We will also tell you when something isn’t worth doing yet. If your roof can wait another season, we’ll say so. If an old oil stain will only lighten, we’ll say that before you pay for it.

What We See Around Here

The Same Job Is Different Here

A few local conditions that shape how NJM prices and plans a job:

  • Needles, not leaves. Columbia County sits under heavy Douglas fir and alder. Needle load is the main gutter problem, and twice a year is often not enough.
  • North slopes go green first. Shaded, north-facing roof slopes grow moss fastest.
  • River damp. In Rainier, Columbia City and Kalama, damp off the Columbia shows up as algae on north walls well before the roof looks bad.
  • Thin gutters. Some newer subdivisions have light gutter stock, so ladders go on standoffs, never against the gutter itself.

If you want the detail, our guide on how moss is removed from a roof safely explains the method.

Before
The same house after cleaning, with the moss gone from the main roof and the shingles an even dark gray
After

What NJM Does

Six Services, All Outside the House

We keep to exterior cleaning. Each service has its own page with the full method and what’s included; this is the short version.

Moss treatment applied in pale lines across an asphalt shingle roof, with a brush and blower set down near the ridge
Roof treatment, BeavertonTreatment goes on at low pressure and is left to work.
Needles and plant debris packed into the gutter valley between two green metal roof sections
Gutter clean, ClatskanieValleys where two roofs meet collect the most debris.
Clean exterior windows on a shingle-sided house, clear enough to reflect the trees and sky
Window cleaning, ScappooseGlass, screens, tracks and sills.

Roof Cleaning

Soft wash at low pressure so the shingle granules stay on the roof. Moss treatment is part of the job, not an upgrade.

Gutter Cleaning

Cleared by hand and bagged, downspouts flushed and checked, with any loose hangers or soft fascia noted in the photos.

Moss Removal

For roofs, slick paths, driveway strips and patio joints. Killed at the root rather than rinsed off, so it doesn’t come straight back.

House Washing

Soft washing takes the green algae film off siding, which often brings back the color without a repaint.

Pressure Washing

Driveways, patios and walkways with an enclosed surface cleaner, edges finished by hand. Never roofs or siding.

Window Cleaning

Inside and out with screens, tracks and sills. Best booked after the roof and siding so nothing spots the glass.

Where We Work

Based in St. Helens. Working Across the Region.

The yard is on Snow Street in St. Helens. If you are within about 30 miles of us, we can usually get to you. The farther from St. Helens, the more we group jobs into planned route days.

Columbia County

Home turf: St. Helens, Scappoose, Warren, Deer Island, Columbia City, Rainier and Clatskanie. We are often already working a street away.

Portland Metro

We come into the metro down Highway 30, so North and Northwest Portland and the west side are easiest to schedule.

SW Washington

Vancouver, Camas and Ridgefield in Clark County, plus Woodland and Kalama. These run on batched route days, so booking ahead helps in the fall.

Before You Hire Us

Straight Answers About NJM

Is NJM licensed and insured?

Yes. NJM Roof & Gutter Cleaning LLC holds Oregon CCB license #252799 as a Residential General Contractor, with a bond and liability insurance on file with the Board. Search 252799 on the CCB license lookup to see the current record, and ask us for the insurance certificate before the job.

Do you use subcontractors?

No. NJM’s own crew does the work. We don’t hand jobs off to other companies.

Will you pressure wash my roof?

No. Roofs are soft washed at low pressure on every job. High pressure strips the granules that protect asphalt shingles. If that’s the only way you want it done, we are not the right company.

What happens if I’m not happy with the result?

Call (971) 328-2122 and tell us what’s wrong. We come back and put it right at no charge.

  3. Two or three photos from the ground, from different sides
